Why, hello out there!

Please read my posting on how to get "how much is it worth" information. The post is a "sticky" so it should be near the top of the forum. It's called "PLEASE READ! Re: 'What Is The Value Of This Sax?'"

Contains helpful information about how those of us WITHOUT psychic powers figure out (roughly) what something is worth, or what it should sell for -- or both! (Two different things.)

Offhand, I can tell you the instrument was made in 1926. This horn is probably a treasured remembrance of your dad, but likely not worth a ton of money. If it has no major damage, and needs only pads, corks, felts, etc, it would cost $300+ to put it in "playing condition." But the problem is few working sax pros use horns from before the early 1930's due to improvements in the technology and intonation beginning in the 30's or so.

A vintage horn enthusiast might offer you a few hundred bucks IF it needed only pads, corks, and felts (and springs perhaps). But again, the market is somewhat limited.

If it's in remarkably well-preserved condition, a collector might be interested, but not for a whole lot more money. These were nice horns in that era, but not rare at all, even today, and amazingly there are still quite a few knocking about now in various states of playability.

Maybe I'm too sentimental for my own good, but I'd see it more as a keepsake and a remembrance than something that could be sold for substantial value. But if you are simply trying to clear some clutter, you might stand to pick up a couple hundred bucks. You'd need to post pictures if you try to sell it on the Internet.

Hope that helps.
