There is a buzz everywhere, and rightfully so -  The Complete Arista Recordings of Anthony Braxton Mosaic
Is a new release of old material, most of it out of print since debuting on vinal about 30 years ago.

Anthony Braxton is a controversial muscian and many, himself among them, claim him not to be a jazz musician. He classifies himself and his music as creative music.

Non the less, he has released over 100 albums since the 1960’s, and not many musicians or artists can boast that amount of creative energy.

I have not yet had the pleasure to listen to this latest collection of music including albums such as New York, Fall 1974, and Five Pieces, but PDF from Running the Voodoo Down has, and says

This box isn’t all the Braxton a serious jazz fan needs, but it’s a tremendous collection.

Anthony Braxton is also a chess player, and for those of you who didn’t know, he used to be a proffesional chess hustler, in New York Washington park.
