ok... one of my students asked me about these horns... Frankly, I've never heard or played one.. I know nothing about them.. but.. I feel uneasy about a horn with a .com in the brand name.. I mean.. the .com is actually printed on the lacquer of the horn. That just,.. frightens me.. but.. Anyone play em? Hear em? Know anythin? I'd love to tell my student more.

What would _really_ scare me off is that they don“t know how to spell saxophone.

If these are the brothers in Las Vegas that have a web sax sales site, the brother that plays shows etc. in Vegas is a really nice cat I recall working with many years ago and I doubt that he would be associated with anything sleazy and for the bread I have heard the horns are pretty good, if you use a credit card I would think you are protected.. I have heard they are just as good as the Unisons which for the money , although now getting too high, they are ok also. Brian

David, I sent you a rather lengthy email in response to your questions about Saxophone.com horns. So to put it simply I own a silverplate Saxophone.com tenor and a black nickel Saxophone.com soprano. I think they are very good pro level horns with great key design, great sound , great intonation, high quality pads, resonators, felts and springs. I enjoy both on mine very much. Also Garrett and Adam (owner and tech respectivly) are great to deal with and offer what I consider exceptional service and a fine instrument at a reasonable price. Check 'em out at www.saxophone.com or call 1-800-Coolsax. They also offer different finishes in addition to the ones listed on the site.

Stay on the scene like a sax machine.

I've not played one, but I do have Cannonballs which are also Taiwanese horns. I really think the Taiwanese make a great horn for the money these days. There are probably a few factories there which make the base horns for a lot of manufacturers who customize from there. I hope the dot com guys stay in business (and Cannonball as well). My only worry being spare parts if I broke something important.
