Damon - I tried some out a few weeks ago in NYC at Roberto's. I tried three or four and really liked one. The others were OK but not for me. The action on all of them felt terrific, like a Selmer (I'm a selmer player)( I have not played a Series II or III that I liked). The sound on three of them was a bit dark. I happen to like dark, and they were more dark than I like. The fourth one was sterling silver, not the matte finish, and it had power and projection with a full sound. If I had a spare 4k I would have considered buying it. I think the best bang for the buck on new horns is the Yanigasawa , and for vintage horns a Conn 10 M and King Zephyr (from the 30's) and to go the extra mile you can't beat a Selmer Balanced action or Super Balanced Action. Just my 2 cents. - Good luck - Ted DeColo
