Hey John, are you collecting great pop solos? If so my vote goes to Waiting for a Star to Fall by Boy Meets Girl - dreadful 80s Big Pop Song, but FANTASTIC alto solo...
I did know the name of the player (saw a copy of the album at a record fair...) but I can't remember the name, and knew nothing else he had done.
Hey ho. Oh - can't help with the others, sorry.
Nick

Speaking of the CD release version(many bootlegs exist), Leroi Moore played Baritone (Selmer Series II) with an unknown rubber mpc on these two tracks. A very short 'solo' exists on 'Too Much'

BS&T Spinning Wheel Fred Lipsius played Alto (monster player, I remember jamming with him at 'The Mayor's House' in Dallas in the late 70's. For some reason I remember him being physically as big as Pete Christleib.) on the recording. Fred also did the arrangement. The recording only lists a trumpet solo by Lew Soloff. Just listened to the recording(original LP), no sax solo. Mark Bushaw

Can't help with the others, but I've worked for Gary and Martha. Can't say I've ever heard the records, but there were no solos on these tunes unless there was time to kill. Gary's original sax player was named Gene Barge or Barth (something like that). He called him Daddy G. I met him in Chicago, but that was a looong time ago.
I've seen Martha a couple of times on television since I worked for her. Does anyone know what happened to her voice?

Thanks Andy. I show the following Dire Straits songs in the Top 40. Did Brecker appear on any of these?
