Gerry Mulligan, check him out on spotify or youtube. Not sure how fammous he is but he's certainly an awesome bari player.

Check out Pepper Adams, Nick Brignola, and Ronnie Cuber. You can do YouTube searches on these guys, or try searching iTunes. There you can listen to a few samples and purchase some of your favorites relatively cheaply.
