I have to thank The Big Picture for bringing Dexter Gordon back to my mind , along with his great album HomeComing: Live at the Village Vanguard

Homecoming: Live at the Village Vanguard. Dex lived in Amsterdam for about 10 years, and this was the album be made when he came back. Very cool set. Woody Shaw is on Trumpet, and the two work really well together. This is Dexter at the very top of his game (and probably one of the top 25 live jazz albums of all time).

What was I saying about chilling?

The five steps would be:

  1. Acquire “Homecoming: Live at the Village Vanguard”
  2. Insert CD in player
  3. Sit on comfortable chair
  4. Press “Play”
  5. Listen and Chill

Just to wet you appetite I bring you a small video
