Mr. Henderson will be laid to rest here in Dayton, Ohio on Saturday morning. Another thing that I love about Joe is his writing! He's left us with a great breadth of killin' tunes. I hadn't heard the album with 'Caribbean Fire Dance' before I heard him play it live a couple of years ago, with three horns, bass, and drums. Knocked me on my ass!!! My buddy Fran Wyatt was on drums with him for a while, and you better believe I was on the phone with him the next day- Hey, man- what was that tune you closed out with last night?
