Hi Folks, Sorry for the vaigueness of the question but i know nothing about sax's.
I have a 1 year old Jupiter alto sax, its gold with siver keys and has a high f# . Its only been played twice, and left in the box since. (I got it for my fiance, but she dousnt have the time or drive to learn)
We paid $2000 Aus Dollars for it, and i wondered what it was worth to sell, as its just a waste of a nice instrument to have it sitting there doing nothing.
any input would help, i cant remember the model number.
Cheers

I tried a 2nd hand Jupiter and Amati a few years ago in Melbourne, mainly for my drummer friend who wanted to pick up sax. I liked the Jupiter a lot but the Amati was cheaper for him...so he ended up buying the Amati for AUS 400-500. The Jupiter was going for a bit higher, i think 700ish, and it was a student horn - it had been played 5 times and the owner subsequently had no time to play and gave up. I don't think from your description your Jupiter's a student horn at all.
Hope this helps

In the woodwind Brasswind (wwandbw.com) catalog the model 667GN standard alto (only high F) sells for $669USA. Model 767GL Deluxe alto with high f# sells for $709USA, Model 869 Artist Jupiter with sterling silver neck goes for $1159USA. I don't know how the exchange rate goes now, but this is the USA costs.
