Folks,

has anyone got a list of the pad sizes (in 32nds of an inch) for a Conn alto (160XXX), alto (91XXX), baritone (189XXX) an 14M bass (263XXX)?

I've tried to get Ferree's Tools, who make the ringed Reso-padsm to fax me the list of pad sizes in their sets, but they seemed to be incapable of either (a) working the fax (b) understanding how to dial the UK from the USA.

Furthermore, I also want to know if anyone has ordered a set for an earlier alto like my 91XXX, which has different pads to the later ones (such as my 160XXX). The 91XXX has two linked smaller pads for the G, whereas the 160XXX has the more usual single tone hole.

Who has had experiences of ordering sets of pads from Ferree's Tools? I want to repad my bass, both my baritones, and probably both of the altos.

thanks,

Refusal to fax: They are probably protecting what they think of as proprietary info. They just want to sell you a pad-set. And come to think of it why would they drop the $$$ for a long slow international phone call if it's not making a sale for them?

I bought a pad-set for a 285k Conn from Ferrees and most of the pads were right. I was glad I had a miscellaneousl few resos lying around to fill in the gaps though.

In the UK you get the pads through Windcraft. I don't think Feree's like to supply anyone else (?) Go to www.dawkes.co.uk and click on the Windcraft site link.

Best thing is to measure the key cups yourself as there can be variations.
