Hey, You guyz know that christmas song 'Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree' - By Brenda Lee? Well I'm trying to find sheet music for the saxophone solo in that song. Or if anyone can find out the notes for that I will pay big money for it!! Also anyone know what kind of sax? I'm thinking Tenor I don't know sounds kind of hard to play because its kind of different like just how they make the sax sound in differnet parts. Also 1 more thing hehe Does anyone know the instrumentation of that song like, vocal, sax, keyboard? or what instruments they are using. But ya any info would sooo help me I would really apprciate. Or if you guyz have any ideas how I can figure out the notes or where I could probably find the sheet music for that, that would be great. Thanks sooo much : )

Nick p.s if you have any info please email me at

Thanks

Nick, unless someone on the board has written it out, you will probably have to learn it by ear. Boots Randolph played tenor on this hit for Brenda. He used some 'growl' in his tone and a lot of staccato.

Another possibility of getting the 'basic' solo would be to purchase a midi file that tracks the original hit which should include the tenor solo. You could then have the solo printed and add the accents, etc.

If I can help in finding a commercial midi arrangement for you let me know. It would cost about $12.00 depending on the company. I can furnish the manes of the companies and you can contact them.

I found a midi file which if opened in Cubase will give you the melody-http://www.geocities.com/RainForest/Vines/2710/ holiday.htm scroll down page to 'R' for Rockin' etc-right click and 'save as'.
