Well, if i am not mistaken, the nonFrench Buffet saxes are made by Keilwerth via taiwan. Your horn probably IS an ST-90!
I've heard about a new brand of saxes called Unison. Has anyone tried any? how do they compare sound and quality wise to the big 4? (Yanigasawa, Keilworth, Yamaha, and Slemer I think it is).

True of most Chinese but not so much of the Taiwanese saxes - in fact I think the Yamaha's are part built in Taiwan and then shipped over to be finished off in Japan. Most good student instrument...
Old sax player in my town has one of these (amongst 80 other odd saxes). It is indeed a 'training' sax that was made for ease of learning. Don't think they got very far with them.
Even if I already know the basics with the other saxes. I'm not a beginner, just a beginner on soprano.

I believe Matt meant to say you CANT go wrong with Yamaha. They make excellent student saxes. Vito also makes a nice student saxophone.
