I have just bought a Schenkelaars tenor sax in top condition. It is rather heavey and has a full round sound witch really pleasently surprized me. I had never heard of this make before and I have been playing for 25 years in Canada though. I understand it's a South Holland Co. that went bankrupt I dont know when. If anyone has any more info. on this particular horn line it would be very much appreciated!

Jean-Pierre Bourassa out of Quebec Canada Thanks in advance for any info.

I played a tenorsax Schenkelaars in the brassband in the Netherlands, 20 years ago. Schenkelaars is/was a factory that produced for the brassband marked. They made reasonable good trumpets, tuba's and other brass. The horn is therefore heavely contructed, for marching purposes.

Is your horn also silverplated? I think the tenor is a kind of imitation of a Selmer. But at that time when I played it, it was not quite that good...
