I was just looking at the Belgian web-site Lemca.com and saw this advertisement regarding a special order item for a harmonic key on the Selmer serie iii alto. Translation in English is a little rough but it sounds like another vent key on the neck to aid the altissimo range. I have tried going to the Selmer sites but have not seen any other mention of this. Is anyone else familiar with this innovation yet?

check www.selmer.com, the description is there, you have to search through the selmer news links, but no pictures.

I saw a tenor with this goodie listed on ebay the other day (saturday) maybe it is still listed, just go to ebay.com and search selmer.

kinka kooky gadget, but cool in its way

Thanks. Found the pics on E-bay. Apparently no one felt like bidding on the instrument. Does anyone out there have any experience with this new phenomenon? Does it work? Are notes in tune when you use it? (I ask this because the 3rd octave key on oboes tends to make the high register somewhat sharp).
